Team GB's women have finished bottom of handball Group A after being soundly beaten by Croatia in their final game of the Olympics.
Louise Jukes levelled Nina Heglund's early opener in a decent Great Britain start, but Croatia went 3-1 ahead inside five minutes.
GB were keeping in touch in the early stages, Ewa Palies pulling the scores back to 4-3 before two quick goals from Vesna Milanovic-Litre pulled Croatia into a 6-3 lead.
Great Britain again got to within a goal of the Croats, with Jukes and then Marie Gerbron scoring to keep things promising for the home nation.
However, that was as close as they were to get. 11 unanswered goals went in for Croatia before Holly Lam-Moores scored GB's sixth just before half-time as the sides went in with the scores 17-6 to Croatia.
Croatia continued to score freely in the second half, with Sonja Basic and Dijana Jovetic particularly proficient.
With five minutes to spare Croatia pulled into a 35-12 lead. Nina Heglund scored a penalty and GB's 13th goal with four to play and there was to be one more goal for the hosts through Kelsi Fairbrother.
Croatia put two more past the British defence to wrap up a 37-14 win.
