England hockey ace Kate Richardson-Walsh is confident that her teammates can defy the odds and beat free-scoring Australia in the Commonwealth Games tomorrow.
Danny Kerry's side thumped Malaysia 5-0 to extend their unbeaten start to the Games but, having scored 22 times in three matches, Australia are poised to represent a far sterner challenge.
"Tournament hockey is about building momentum and on the back of the summer we've had so far, it's key we got a couple of good wins under our belts," she told reporters.
"I'm just looking forward to Australia now. They've had a fantastic couple of years and they look like the Hockeyroos from the early part of my career when they were on top of the world.
"We go in as underdogs but we believe in ourselves and we can beat them."
Monday's encounter is scheduled to begin at 2pm.
