England have claimed silver after losing on penalties to Australia in the Commonwealth Games women's hockey final.
After a prolonged stalemate, 19-year-old Lily Owsley kept her cool and fired England into the lead with 18 minutes to go to send the crowd into raptures.
However, with just 11 seconds remaining, Australia's Jodie Kenny fired into the bottom corner of the England net from a penalty corner.
In the penalty shootout, Australia's Casey Eastham and England's Georgie Twigg both converted their opening efforts, before Alex Danson and Kellie White missed.
Advantage then fell to the Aussies as Georgina Parker buried her effort, with England's Susie Gilbert failing to respond.
Captain Madonna Blyth then converted her shot to seal the gold for Australia and break English hearts.
