England's Sarah Walker has admitted that she is "buzzing" to have advanced in the women's singles at the Commonwealth Games.
The British number two saw off former teammate Elizabeth Cann 21-15 21-13 to progress through to the next round.
"It has been a really good day and hopefully we can take it on to Saturday," Walker told reporters. "We will be buzzing for that.
"The atmosphere is great and the hall is nice to play in and we all feel comfortable here."
On how she found playing against against Cann, the 24-year-old added: "We trained together for maybe five years until she retired from English badminton. We played each other at the Nationals earlier this year which was tough and it is very much a mind game out there."
Walker won the English National Badminton Championships earlier this year.
