Judo fighter Eva Csernoviczki has been strangled unconscious as she lost her 48kg quarter-final match.
The Hungarian fighter was competing against eventual bronze medalist Charline van Snick when she passed out to a move from Van Snick.
The referee immediately called a halt to the bout and awarded the match to the Belgian as Csernoviczki began to regain consciousness.
She responded well to medical help and was able to leave the mat without assistance.
