British judoka Megan Fletcher believes that this weekend's Judo Open in Glasgow provides a "fantastic opportunity" for the athletes to perform in front of a Scottish crowd for the first time since the Commonwealth Games.
Fletcher, who won gold for Team England in the -70kg event during the summer, will compete at the Emirates Arena on Saturday.
"It's amazing how positively judo was received by the home crowd both during and following the Games," the Bath Chronicle quotes Fletcher as saying.
"We had such a warm welcome from Glaswegians and it will be a fantastic opportunity to compete in front of the Glasgow crowd, especially since judo has been embraced in such a positive way since the Games. I can't wait to go back to that welcoming crowd."
Fellow Brit Gemma Howell will also be competing at the Open.
