Liverpool and Stoke City have drawn 0-0 at Anfield with neither side managing to carve out many chances.
The first half sprung into action in the eighth minute when Nuri Sahin struck towards goal but his shot was unfortunately blocked by teammate Raheem Sterling.
Then Michael Kightly tried to catch Pepe Reina off his line in the 20th minute but the Spaniard recovered from a poor clearance to tip over the bar.
Steven Gerrard tried from distance in the 27th minute but his effort was well saved by Asmir Begovic.
The Stoke stopper was then called into action early in the second half, this time saving from Glen Johnson.
Liverpool continued to press and Luis Suarez finished a jinking run with a shot high into the Kop in the 59th minute.
Despite the possession continuing for Liverpool they were not creating nearly enough chances as the game edged into the final 20 minutes.
Suarez was so close to finally opening the scoring in the 83rd minute, but his effort struck the frame of the goal and Stoke survived.
