Seven-time MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi has said that the sport needs to change, branding this year's races "boring".
Jorge Lorenzo, Dani Pedrosa and reigning world champion Casey Stoner have been the only riders to win in 16 races so far this year.
Rossi told BBC Sport: "Now is the worst moment in MotoGP since I joined in 2000.
"It is the most boring moment. Races are quite bad and it is very difficult to stay awake.
"You look at Moto3, the races are very exciting, Moto2 is fantastic and then MotoGP is boring. So they have to change the product."
The 33-year-old is leaving Ducati to return to Yamaha next year.
