England netballer Joanne Harten explains that the semi-final defeat to New Zealand left her devastated.

Joanne Harten has revealed that she was left devastated as New Zealand beat England with two seconds remaining to book their place in Sunday's netball final.

Marai Tutaia scored the winning point at the death to leave some of the English team in tears at the final whistle.

Harten told BBC Sport: "That's absolutely devastating, to lose by one goal. That's probably two or three years in the making and we put our heart and soul into that match.

"We did England proud, but we didn't come away with the win, and as I say, it was gutting. Credit to the girls, it was a great game, and we'll have to get ourselves back up for tomorrow's game.

"New Zealand have been in these pressure situations before and they're pretty much professionals at it."

Meanwhile, Tutaia claimed that her winning point masked her "shocking performance".

"That was quite a shocking performance from myself," she said.

"I'm just really lucky I was in the rebound position. It was extremely tight and you've got to give props to the English team, they really came out firing and came with their A game and they gave it their all.

"I'm just glad we're in that gold medal match. We came here to win, we came here to fight and we're here to get that gold."

The Kiwis will meet either Australia or Jamaica in Sunday's final.
