England have kept their semi-final hopes alive by sealing a 78-33 victory over Wales in their second-round pool match at the Netball World Cup in Sydney.

England head coach Tracey Neville made three changes to the side that lost to Australia as Helen Housby came in for Pamela Cookey at goal attack.

Sonia Mkoloma slotted in at goal defence and Tamsin Greenway took her place at wing attack, while Wales made two changes, with Nichola James and Lateisha Kinder entering the fray.

At the end of the first quarter, England goal shooter Jo Harten struck 19 goals from as many attempts to help her side take a strong 23-8 lead.

Neville's side continued their dominance as Housby reached the half-time interval with 95% shooting accuracy, which pushed the team to a comfortable 41-16 lead at the break.

Wales were trailing by a significant margin heading into the second half, but Georgia Rowe and her teammates impressed by scoring 10 goals and restricting England to their lowest score over a quarter.

England were able to respond though, as they scored a further 12 times in the fourth quarter to wrap up a dominant display.
