Television personality Paddy McGuinness has kept his promise to clean Emile Heskey's boots after the Bolton Wanderers striker netted on his debut.
The 36-year-old defied the Bolton fan by scoring in the Trotters' Boxing Day win over Blackburn Rovers, after the comedian had tweeted: "If @EmileHeskeyUK comes off the bench today and scores for us I'll personally clean his boots! C'mon Bolton!!!!"
The Take Me Out host has now honoured his pledge and given Heskey's footwear a quick once over at the club's training ground.
McGuinness acknowledged his duty on the day after the game by writing: "For those asking about my bet, cleaning @EmileHeskeyUK boots. I'm a man of my word, just waiting for a date from the club. Keep u posted."
After keeping his word, he then posted: "There you go, a man of my word. @EmileHeskeyUK boots, spotless!!!"
Heskey joined Wanderers on a short-term deal in December.
