Thibaut Courtois and his father are taking legal action against former Belgium head coach Marc Wilmots for accusing him of leaking team information.
The Chelsea goalkeeper confirmed via social media that he is suing the manager over remarks he made in an interview with beIN Sports.
Wilmots told the network that Courtois's father Thierry leaked team selection information during the 2016 European Championships, prompting the Blues stopper to seek legal advice.
"Wilmots - not for the first time - reiterates publicly and intentionally accusations against my honour and reputation as well as my father and we decided together to file a complaint accompanied by criminal indemnification proceedings for libel and defamation," Courtois wrote on Twitter.
Wilmots was sacked as Belgium boss after his side were eliminated from Euro 2016 by Wales.
