David Goodwillie and David Robertson have lost their appeal against a civil ruling which stated that they raped a woman in 2011.
Earlier this year, former Dundee United teammates Goodwillie and Robertson were ordered to pay Denise Clair £100,000 in damages.
The duo went on to challenge Lord Armstrong's ruling, but their appeal was rejected by three appeal judges at the Court of Session in Edinburgh on Tuesday morning.
Miss Clair had claimed in a civil action that she was a victim of sexual assault and rape by the men at a flat in Armadale, West Lothian, after she had gone for a night out on January 1 in 2011 in nearby Bathgate.
Both Goodwillie and Robertson had accepted that they had sexual intercourse but maintained that it was consensual, with a full police investigation carried out into the incident, but no criminal prosecution took place.
Goodwillie now plays for Scottish League Two side Clyde and Robertson has retired from football.
