Report: Greg Clarke, Martin Glenn retain Football Association board support

Chairman Greg Clarke and chief executive Martin Glenn reportedly retain the support of the Football Association board in the wake of the Eniola Aluko race row.

Chairman Greg Clarke and chief executive Martin Glenn have reportedly retained the support of the Football Association board.

Pressure has been mounting the top chiefs at the FA to step down over their handling of the Eniola Aluko and Mark Sampson racism row.

Digital, Culture, Media and Sport chair Damian Collins has claimed that the four FA bosses who faced the committee should consider resigning over the debacle.

According to Sky Sports News, FA board members will hold a conference call on Thursday night but it is not an emergency call and is standard practice for committee hearings to be discussed the following day.

The report goes on to claim that Clarke and Glenn's positions are not at immediate risk, as there is no appetite for leadership change within the FA Board and FA Council.

The FA apologised on Wednesday for racially discriminatory remarks made by Sampson to Aluko in 2014 and to her Chelsea and England teammate Drew Spence in 2015, as a reopened investigation into their complaints was published.
