Kevin Pietersen agrees to work with broadcasters ESPN-Star Sports on the Twenty20 World Cup after being left out of the England playing squad.

Kevin Pietersen has agreed a deal with ESPN-Star Sports to be part of their broadcast team for the Twenty20 World Cup this September.

The controversial batsman was left out of England's playing squad for the tournament in Sri Lanka following his fallout with the England and Wales Cricket Board.

He is due to a href="/cricket/england/news/pietersen-to-meet-strauss_40921.html">meet with captain Andrew Strauss and coach Andy Flower to discuss his England future, but in the meantime, Pietersen will watch his former teammates from the commentary box.

He said in the statement: "I am very excited about working with ESPN-Star Sports covering the ICC World Twenty20 watching England defend their title."

Managing director of the Asian broadcaster, Peter Hutton, said: "We're delighted that one of the biggest names is part of our team and look forward to hearing the insights of someone who knows the format and knows the current stars inside out."

The 32-year-old was named player of the tournament two years ago when England claimed the trophy with victory over Australia in the final.
