Pubs in England have been granted extended opening hours by the Home Office to broadcast the team's matches at this summer's World Cup.
Establishments will be allowed to stay open until 1am BST when England matches start at 8pm BST or later.
Prime Minister David Cameron revealed last month that he had "ordered a rethink" after the Home Office had originally rejected plans for pubs and bars to open later.
The latest decision comes following a two-week consulation.
"The government believes that England playing in the World Cup is an occasion of exceptional national significance," read an official Home Office statement.
"Many people will wish to enjoy watching the matches in pubs and bars and experience the atmosphere of the occasion with fellow football fans, as demonstrated by the enthusiasm of the majority of those who responded to the consultation.
"The government has listened to the views received in response to the consultation and in discussion with partners has decided to proceed with the proposal to relax licensing hours nationally for England's World Cup matches."
England start their World Cup campaign on June 14 when they face Italy. The match is due to start at 11pm BST.
