Former Italy World Cup winner Fabio Cannavaro mistakenly selected a picture of Frank Lampard while paying tribute to Steven Gerrard on Facebook.
The Liverpool captain played his final game at Anfield for the Reds on Saturday before he joins MLS side Los Angeles Galaxy in July.
Lampard will also be moving to the United States this summer when he ends his loan spell at Manchester City next weekend, but it appears as though Cannavaro got the two former England players mixed up.
According to The Mirror, on his official Facebook page, the 41-year-old posted a picture of himself playing against Lampard in an international fixture, and added the caption: "#stevengerrard #cannavaro #respect #history #icons #topplayers".
The post has since been deleted.
