Liverpool fan Betty Musker is expected to receive around 4,000 cards when she turns 104 later this month.
The pensioner, who moved to a North Warrington care home 10 years ago, has become the subject of a Facebook campaign because she didn't expect to get many cards because "most of her friends are dead".
One of Betty's carers Lorraine Marshall told the Liverpool Echo: "I can't bear football, but she's Reds mad.
"She watches every game, she even watched the whole world cup. She's football crazy. She's a lovely, lovely lady, and she loves her hometown of Liverpool."
Thousands of cards, some coming from Singapore, have been sent to the care home to honour Betty's 104th birthday.
