The Hillsborough memorial at Anfield could reportedly be moved as part of Liverpool's plans to regenerate the stadium.
The tribute to the 96 victims that perished in 1989 is currently based at the Anfield Road End of the ground, but chair of the Hillsborough Family Support Group Margaret Aspinall has revealed that they could create a '96th Avenue' alongside the stadium.
"We're waiting to see where it will be and how it will be positioned in relation to the new route," Aspinall told the Liverpool Echo. "I think the 96th Avenue idea is a lovely gesture and that families will be pleased.
"It has quite an American ring to it which connects it with the owners of the club, and I think that's very fitting. It might be nice if people could walk down the avenue and to have the memorial right at the end in a prominent position."
Plans have been made to place the avenue through Stanley Park.
