Liverpool fan Dorothy Adams, 77, delays hospital treatment on her broken wrist to watch their 2-1 victory over West Brom, and says that the win "made it worthwhile".

A 77-year-old Liverpool fan who broke her wrist tripping over a traffic cone insisted on watching Liverpool win 2-1 at home to West Bromwich Albion before going to A&E for treatment.

Dorothy Adams, of Widnes, suffered the injury on her way to Anfield last Saturday, but, after taking some painkillers she watched the entire 90 minutes before getting medical attention.

"I tripped over a cone on the way into the ground and the stewards looked after me," the season-ticket holder of eight years told the Liverpool Echo.

"They gave me a bandage and some painkillers and said they would call an ambulance, but I told them I wanted to see the rest of the match. Luckily Liverpool won so it made it worthwhile.

"After the match, my husband took me to hospital and they said it was a complicated fracture. The doctor couldn't believe I had sat through the rest of the game."

Although Dorothy was pleased by last weekend's victory, she has not been convinced by Liverpool's start to the season.

"I'm not too impressed with this season so far," she said. "It's been a bit of a rocky start, but hopefully things will improve."

Dorothy's husband has been watching the Reds for more than 70 years.
