A report has claimed that UEFA will ban Roma fans from away games for one or two matches following an attack which left a Liverpool fan in a coma.
Two Giallorossi supporters, 21-year-old Filippo Lombardi and 29-year-old Daniele Sciuscio, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after the incident before Tuesday night's Champions League semi-final first leg at Anfield.
Sean Cox, 53, is currently critical but stable at Walton Hospital after suffering a severe bleed to the head during the attack.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, UEFA is expected to announce an official investigation imminently, with Roma fans likely to be barred from away matches for at least one game.
The report claims that the Lupi could also be fined, but adds that sanctions on the club, including a stadium closure, could be difficult to hand out as the incident happened before the match and outside the ground.
Liverpool intend to hold talks with UEFA and Italian police chiefs to ensure the safety of their supporters travelling to Rome next week for the return leg.
