A stage show dedicated to Liverpool legend Bill Shankly will return to Merseyside over the Christmas period.
'The Bill Shankly Story' created by John Keith is due to feature at the Gladstone Theatre in Port Sunlight to provide fans with stories and memories of the late manager. Shankly took the Reds from the Second Division to the top of English football and had a glittering career before his death in 1981.
"The show is semi-scripted and semi-ad-lib," Keith told Liverpool Echo. "But when we go to the all the former players, everything they do is ad-lib. So every single show is different and they remember different stories about Shanks.
"Chris Lawler's recall is staggering and though he was known as the quiet man at Anfield, he really comes out of his shell. We try and keep it fresh."
Ian St John, Ron Yeats and Ian Callaghan are among the players due to appear in the show.
