Mark Hughes has been full of praise for Frank Lampard after the Manchester City midfielder swapped shirts with Stoke City teenager Oliver Shenton, who recently lost his mother.
The 17-year-old made his Premier League debut off the bench in the Potters' 4-1 defeat to the English champions on Wednesday evening.
Shenton took to the pitch just two days after his mother's funeral and Lampard, whose own mother passed away in 2008, had a chat with the youngster after the game before swapping shirts.
"That is a great touch," Hughes told reporters in this morning's press conference. "Obviously Frank has lost close family members as well and maybe that resonated with Frank. I think that shows his class."
Lampard will join up with MLS side New York City at the end of the season.
