Olympic hero Usain Bolt confirms that he will play in this summer's Soccer Aid charity football match for UNICEF.

Eight-time Olympic champion Usain Bolt has confirmed that he will be playing in this year's Soccer Aid charity football match at Old Trafford.

The Jamaican former sprinter, who is a Manchester United fan, has made no secret of the fact that he desires a career in football.

In the last few days, the 31-year-old has teased fans on Twitter, claiming that he is on the verge of signing for a team, and now he has revealed that his move is in aid of UNICEF.

Bolt, who won 11 World Championship golds in his athletics career, will captain a World XI against a team led by former Take That singer Robbie Williams.

In a statement, Bolt said: "It is my dream to make it as a professional footballer, so to be able to step out onto the pitch at Old Trafford in June, and play against some of football's biggest legends is going to be remarkable.

"I enjoy the thrill of competition in front of a crowd, so Robbie and his England team better watch out as I won't be going easy on them. I've got a pretty special celebration planned for when I score, by the way. My team is going to be unbeatable."

Last year, reports emerged claiming that Borussia Dortmund were willing to offer a trial to Bolt.
