An Australian bookmaker has apologised after posting a controversial tweet about the girlfriend of Manchester United teenager James Wilson.
The 19-year-old was photographed arriving hand in hand with his partner at United's end-of-season awards on Tuesday night.
Bookmaker Oddschecker posted the picture of the couple, which was accompanied with the message: "Sure she's a lovely girl but someone needs to remind James Wilson he's a pro fooballer. Start abusing this privilege."
After receiving a mass backlash, with some users describing the tweet as "disgusting" and "rude", the bookmaker removed it from their social media page and posted the message: "Apologies for the offence caused by our earlier Tweet - it's now been deleted."
Wilson has featured 16 times for the Red Devils this season.
