Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has been banned from driving for nine months after getting caught speeding twice in one day.
The Belgium international was clocked driving at 81mph in a 40mph zone on Cross Street in Sale, and six minutes later was caught speeding at 59mph when the limit was 30mph.
The footballer, who had previously pleaded guilty to both charges, was 'excused' from the hearing at Manchester Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Fellaini, who was on the bench for United's goalless draw against PSV Eindhoven last night, had written a 'genuine' letter of apology.
Fellaini was issued with the nine-month ban and a £1,188 fine, as well as court costs of £170, a £150 criminal court charge and a £120 victim surcharge.
