Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has reportedly been the victim of a bomb threat.
Earlier this week, the England international featured in his club's 4-0 defeat at Liverpool in the Premier League, a result and performance which came in for strong criticism.
According to The Sun, a bomb threat has since been made towards Maguire and his family, the threat being made to the 29-year-old's email address.
As quoted by the same outlet, a spokesperson said: "In the last 24 hours, Harry has received a serious threat to his family home.
"He has reported this to the police who are now looking into the matter. The safety of his family and those around him is obviously Harry's number one priority.
"He will continue to prepare for this weekend's fixture as normal and we will not be commenting in any further detail at this time."
An investigation has subsequently been launched by Cheshire Police, while searches of the property and nearby are ongoing. body check tags ::
