Manchester United have 'condemned violence of any kind' and further reiterated that Mason Greenwood will not train or play for the club "until further notice".
On Sunday, Greater Manchester Police said that "a man in his 20s" had been arrested on suspicion of rape and assault following accusations from his girlfriend.
Greenwood has since been further arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and threats to kill, with the England international still being questioned by police, with magistrates authorising an extension until tomorrow.
Man United have now released another statement following the latest developments.
"Manchester United reiterates its strong condemnation of violence of any kind. As previously communicated, Mason Greenwood will not train with, or play for, the club until further notice," read a statement from the club.
The 20-year-old has made 129 appearances for the Red Devils since breaking into the first team, netting 35 times and contributing 12 assists in the process.
Greenwood's last appearance was against West Ham United in the Premier League on January 22, helping his side record a 1-0 victory over the Hammers at Old Trafford. body check tags ::
