Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard reportedly had in excess of £100,000 worth of clothes and jewellery stolen from his home in the middle of January.
The 29-year-old was strongly linked with a move away from Old Trafford during the winter transfer window but saw a proposed loan move to Newcastle United break down at the final moment.
According to The Sun, in the middle of the month, while Lingard was representing Man United against Aston Villa, the England international saw his house targeted.
The report claims that the attacker had 'more than £100,000 of clothes and jewellery' taken from his property before security were alerted.
"He was really upset to find out he had been targeted. The items which were stolen are replaceable, but it's very invasive for him to have someone break into his home, especially as he is a father," the newspaper quotes a source as saying.
"He has stepped up security since the robbery and is reviewing how his home is protected when he is away from it."
Lingard - out of contract at the end of June - played the final minute of the 2-2 draw with Aston Villa on January 15, and he has featured in three of Man United's last five Premier League matches. body check tags ::
