A young Manchester United supporter received a signed autograph from Danny Welbeck in a case emblazoned with arch rivals Liverpool's crest.
Michelle Nevins ordered the gift from the club's official website for her nephew Oscar Dalton's sixth birthday as the young fan lists Welbeck as his favourite player.
"When it got here, I opened it and was looking for the certificate of authenticity when I saw that it was in a Liverpool case," Michelle told the Manchester Evening News. "Of all the clubs for it to be – I couldn't believe it.
"It just made me think that they clearly don't care about it and when I called the club they just offered a refund which wasn't great because Oscar was coming round for it that day.
"Then my dad, who's a City fan, started laughing and I saw the funny side. The only way it could have been worse would have been if it had come in a City case."
The memento from the club cost £30.
