Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was allegedly involved in a row with Paul Pogba and Phil Jones following the club's 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United last weekend.
Pogba, who ruled himself out of Saturday's FA Cup win over Huddersfield Town with illness, was substituted a minute after Matt Richie's winner at St James' Park last weekend.
According to The Sun, Mourinho launched an attack on the Frenchman and defender Jones, who was also criticised for his performance in the North-East.
The newspaper adds that England international Jones was shocked at being singled out and subjected to the verbal attack from the Portuguese boss.
United's 2-0 win over Huddersfield, secured by a Romelu Lukaku brace, has earned them a home tie against Brighton & Hove Albion in the last eight.
