Manchester United manager David Moyes has stated that defender Chris Smalling was "wrong" to dress up as a suicide bomber for a fancy dress party.
The England international was photographed in a national newspaper wearing a costume consisting of cans of Red Bull and empty bottles of Jagermeister strapped to his chest
After the picture emerged, Smalling issued an apology via his management, recognising that he made an "insensitive decision".
"I think Chris understands it was the wrong thing to do," Moyes said in a press conference. "We have told him that and we have moved on."
United will take on Swansea City at Old Trafford tomorrow.
