MK Dons midfielder Mark Randall has been cleared of sexually assaulting a woman in a nightclub.
The 26-year-old, who used to play for Arsenal, was charged after allegedly cupping his hand over a woman's vagina, saying "I bet you want some of that" before leaving the club.
Randall, who was pulled aside by a security guard at the time, denied sexual assault, telling police that he had tapped the woman on the thigh and said goodnight to her.
According to The Mirror, MK Dons boss Karl Robinson, team captain Dean Lewington and goalkeeper David Martin gave evidence at Aylesbury Crown Court supporting Randall.
A statement from Randall's solicitor Mike Hayward said: "Mr Randall has waited to clear his name for 11 months and the not guilty verdict brings a sustained period of anguish to a conclusion.
"He would like to request that he and his family's privacy is respected and that they are allowed to move forward."
Jurors deliberated for just half an hour.
