Newcastle United midfielder Cheik Tiote has appeared in court over multiple charges including fraud by false representation.
The 27-year-old appeared at Newcastle Magistrates' Court today where the case was sent to Crown Court.
The midfielder has also been accused of making a false claim to obtain insurance in September 2011, as well as driving a Chevrolet without a licence in February this year.
Tiote, who has recently claimed that he wants to stay with the Magpies, has also been charged with holding a false ID document used to provide information about himself.
The midfielder is on unconditional bail.
