Rebecca Adlington has paid tribute to Olympic swimmer Camille Muffat after the athlete was killed in a helicopter crash while filming a reality TV show in Argentina.
The 25-year-old, who won Olympic gold at London 2012, was one of 10 people who perished when two helicopters collided in La Rioja province.
On Twitter, Adlington wrote: "So sad and shocked to wake up to hear the tragic death of Camille Muffat. She was an amazing sportswoman, competitor and lovely person.
"My thoughts go out to not only all her friends and family but to all the family and friends of all the 10 victims. Its an extremely sad day. RIP Olympic Champion Camille Muffat. You will be dearly missed. X"
French Olympic boxer Alexis Vastine and yachtswoman Florence Arthaud were also among the victims in the crash.
