A high school basketball coach has been banned for two games, after his team beat opponents by a record scoreline of 161-2.
Arroyo Valley High girls' coach Michael Anderson is accused of using an 'overly-defensive' tactic known as the full-court press throughout the first half, which forces the opponent into making mistakes.
Anderson's side were leading Bloomington High 104-1 at half time, ultimately resulting in the basketball coach's suspension.
"The game got away from me, I didn't expect them to be that bad. I didn't play any starters in the second half," Anderson said, according to BBC Sport.
Bloomington High coach Dale Chung criticised Anderson for his tactics and says that Anderson "knows what he did is wrong".
"People shouldn't feel sorry for my team. They should feel sorry for his team, which isn't learning the game the right way," Chung said.
Anderson's team have won their last four games by a margin of 70 points, with the under-fire coach reportedly seeking his next opponent.
