Former BBC broadcaster Stuart Hall has admitted that he indecently assaulted 13 underage girls.
The 83-year-old admitted his guilt at Preston Crown Court to the 14 offences which were carried out between the years of 1967 to 1986.
Other charges, including one of rape, will lie on file after prosecutors decided not to pursue them following Hall's admission of guilt to the indecent assault offences.
Hall's barrister admitted that the veteran broadcaster was "only too aware his disgrace is complete".
Hall joined the BBC in 1959 and worked as a broadcaster for programmes including BBC Radio 5 Live, commentating on football matches among other events.
A BBC spokesperson said: "The BBC is appalled by the disgraceful actions of Stuart Hall and we would like to express our sympathy to his victims.
"We will continue to work with the police to assist them in this and any other inquiries they are making."
Hall was arrested in December 2012.
