Golf legend Christy O'Connor Jr has passed away at the age of 67.
The Irishman, who won four times on the European Tour, played in two Ryder Cups and secured two British Open Senior titles, is believed to have died in Spain.
"We are shocked by the news. Christy was a huge part of this club," Peter Murphy of the Galway Bay Golf Club told Independent.ie.
"Christy opened a new clubhouse here last May and ran an event for the Hospice in September which raised an incredible £202,000 in one day's golf. He will be badly missed and our thoughts are very much with his family and friends right now."
O'Connor is survived by his wife Ann, daughter Ann and son Nigel.
