Former Olympic 200m champion Shawn Crawford has been banned for two years for failing to comply with out-of-competition drugs testing.

The 35-year-old American, who won the gold medal at the 2004 Athens Games, has been punished for not giving the US Anti-Doping Agency details of his whereabouts on three separate occasions.

He will now be stripped of all results after the date of his final failure, which was on November 17, 2012.

"Crawford failed to comply with the whereabouts requirements and, as a result, accrued three 'Whereabouts Failures' within an 18-month period," read a USADA statement.

Crawford also won silver medals at the 2008 Beijing Games in both the 200m and 4x100m relay.
