United States Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas was named the sportswoman of the year at the Women's Sports Foundation event in New York.
The 16-year-old was handed the top honour after clinching a gold medal in the all-around gymnastics event at the London Olympic Games in the summer.
Douglas tweeted: "Thank you so much @WomensSportsFdn for nominating me for such an AMAZING award! Thank you everyone that voted for me! Love you guys!"
Douglas was awarded the gong over tennis champion Serena Williams, ski racer Lindsey Vonn and swimmer Missy Franklin.
