Linesman Richard Nieuwenhuizen dies following an attack by several youth players during a match in Holland.

A man who was working as a linesman during a youth football match in the Netherlands has died following a physical attack by a number of players on Sunday.

Just hours after the match at Amsterdam-based club Nieuw Sloten, Richard Nieuwenhuizen collapsed and was rushed to hospital.

He had been punched and kicked by some of the youths, three of whom have been arrested since his death.

It has been reported that their ages range from 15 to 16.

The exact cause of Nieuwenhuizen's death has not yet been revealed.
