New broadcaster Eleven Sports has poached the rights to the Eredivisie and the Chinese Super League from Sky.

Eleven - backed by Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani - pulled off the coup of securing rights to La Liga from Sky earlier this year and last week added to its portfolio by taking the rights to the Serie A from BT Sport.

Now the broadcaster has confirmed that it will also screen the Eredivisie starting with the new season, as well as Sweden's Allsvenskan and, from 2019, the Chinese Super League.

"With Eredivisie, Chinese Super League and Allsvenskan joining La Liga and Serie A, Eleven Sports is delivering on the promise to become the go-to destination for football fans," said Danny Menken, group managing director for Eleven Sports.

"We will cooperate very closely with the leagues to deliver an outstanding all-round service that ensures the fans live every moment from some of the world's best sports leagues and competitions. We are looking forward to announcing more premium football and non-football rights soon to add to our growing portfolio."

Eleven is planning to launch two new channels in the UK and Ireland on August 9, although the broadcaster has yet to announce carriage deals for the service on Sky, Virgin Media or BT TV.
