The rape victim of former Sheffield United striker Ched Evans has been given a new identity by the courts after the female's name was posted on social network websites.
The 23-year-old was sentenced to five years in prison after he admitted to having sex with the woman, who told police that she had no recollection of the incident.
Detective Chief Inspector Steve Williams of North Wales Police is quoted in the Daily Star as saying: "Because of Evans's high profile, the case attracted a significant amount of interest nationally and internationally. The woman has moved from the area and has actually been able to move forward."
The female's name was posted on Twitter over 6,000 times when Evans was sentenced to jail in April.
