Former Grand Slam semi-finalist Bob Hewitt has been jailed for six years for raping underage girls in South Africa.
The 75-year-old was found guilty of two counts of rape and one of sexual assault in March at the South Gauteng High Court before learning of his sentence today.
Hewitt's wife begged the court to show mercy to her husband, but he insisted that he had "no remorse" for what he had done.
The attacks took place in the 1980s and 1990s when the Australian-born Hewitt was working as a coach in South Africa.
During his playing days, Hewitt reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open on three occasions in the singles. He was more successful as a doubles player, winning nine Grand Slam doubles titles, including five at Wimbledon.
