Photographs of Oscar Pistorius soaked in blood have been shown as part of the Paralympian's murder trial at the High Court in Pretoria.
Police took pictures of the South African athlete shortly after the 27-year-old shot dead his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp at his home in the early hours of Valentine's Day last year.
The photos displayed to the court showed a bare-chested Pistorius wearing shorts with the right side soaked in blood, while cuts and blood smears also appeared to be on his arms.
The images, which were shown as part of a series accompanying the evidence of Colonel Schoombie van Rensburg, are also showed Pistorius with trails of blood down his prosthetic legs.
Pistorius has denied murder by maintaining that he mistook Steenkamp for an intruder when he fired the gunshots through a bathroom door at his home.
The trial has been adjourned until Monday morning.
