Ana Ivanovic has been voted as the "hottest" female tennis player, beating the likes of Maria Sharapova and Eugenie Bouchard to top spot.

The Serbian, who is currently 16th in the WTA rankings, topped a poll in which almost almost 5,000 people cast their opinions.

Male users of Victoria Milan, a website specialising in extra-marital affairs, took part in the survey.

"These women are at the top of their game – both winning tennis matches and winning the hearts and minds of their male fans," Sigurd Vedal, founder of the website, is quoted as saying by The Mirror.

"It's easy to see why – talent, looks and skill, and a highly competitive edge is a very sexy combination."

Ivanovic is reportedly dating Manchester United and Germany midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger.
