Former Sunderland footballer Adam Johnson was arrested last year on suspicion of possessing extreme pornography featuring animals.
The arrest was made shortly after he was detained on March 2, 2015 for sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl.
On Thursday at Bradford Crown Court, the footballer was sentenced to six years in prison after admitting to kissing and grooming his teenage victim and being found guilty of a separate sexual activity charge.
After a judge lifted a banning order, the media has been permitted to report that Johnson allegedly had bestiality material on his laptop, which was seized by Durham Police following his March arrest.
According to The Mirror, in pre-trial hearings the court was told that a website called 'Nice Young Teens', which displayed legal pornographic images, had been accessed on Johnson's laptop.
It was also heard that Johnson may have been suffering with sexually transmitted infections as medicines were found in a safe at his home in County Durham.
With regards to that particular arrest, Johnson has been released on bail and will not face further action.
