British boxer Amir Khan has admitted that he takes inspiration from his father Shah's parenting skills and wants to do the same job raising his daughter Lamaisah.
The 28-year-old, whose daughter with wife Faryal is six months old, has opened up about his family life and reveals that he will have a traditional Christmas, despite his Muslim faith.
"I am determined to be the same kind of father to Lamaisah as my dad has been to me and guide her through life," Khan told The Guardian. "I'm really excited at the thought of her first Christmas. Although we are Muslim, we still celebrate.
"We have a little tree and a turkey dinner with the family. It's really important to me that when Lamaisah starts school and the other kids talk about what they got for Christmas, she doesn't feel left out."
Khan is preparing to take on Devon Alexander in the ring in Las Vegas this weekend.
