Former Southampton star Matt Le Tissier has confirmed that he will feature in an episode of Channel 4's maths and letters quiz Countdown later in the year.
The 46-year-old, who previously appeared as the programme's 'Dictionary Corner' guest, announced to his Twitter followers today that he will film his show in the autumn.
During his previous appearance, the retired footballer solved a numbers round that left both contestants and maths expert Rachel Riley stumped.
Le Tissier tweeted: "Passed my contestant audition for @C4Countdown . Be filming in autumn 😃 hope youve brushed up on the numbers @RachelRileyRR."
The Sky Sports Soccer Saturday pundit will be the fourth footballer to take on the challenge, following Adrian Coote, Clarke Carlisle and Neil MacKenzie.
