Former England international Gary Lineker signs a five-year contract extension to continue covering football for the BBC.

Gary Lineker has announced that he has signed a five-year contract extension with the BBC to continue presenting their football coverage.

The former England international has presented the network's flagship Match Of The Day highlights program since 1999, as well as hosting live coverage of the sport.

The 54-year-old revealed the news on Twitter:


The former Leicester City and Barcelona striker has also worked for NBC Sports and Al Jazeera Sports since retiring from playing in 1994.
